DAVID Beckham and wife Victoria have sold their Beckingham Palace country home and a fleet of cars for $19 million to upgrade to a $70 million home.The couple have made a tidy $15 million profit from the sale of the sprawling estate in Hertfordshire, north of London, which they bought for $4 million 1999 just months after they were married.
The price of the house includes several sports cars, including one of David's favourite Ferraris, and in addition, two Jaguars and the family's holiday home in France.
According to the Sun On Sunday, the Beckhams' decision to sell up is down to "the beginning of a new era for the family".
Sources say the family are now moving into central London, where they've purchased a new home worth $70 million.
A source told the tabloid: "David in particular was desperately sad to sell the family home as there are so many memories there. They have had years of happiness in the home, but practically now there is no need to keep it."
The family of six have been staying in the country mansion since returning from Los Angeles, after David's football contract with LA Galaxy came to an end, the Daily Mail reports.
Now the retired footballer has business ventures including his new restaurant with pal Gordon Ramsay, Union Cafe in Borough.
The new mansion which David and Victoria have reportedly bought is a four-storey west London property, which they hope Ramsay will design a five star kitchen for.
