GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Most of us are not like Santa Claus. We do not make a list and we certainly don't check it twice.
"Stuff that I forgot. It's like you come over, you get stuff and you get home and you're like 'I forgot the soda!' And you just have to come back and do it all over again," explained Karla Ramirez.
READ: Christmas Eve Shoppers Hit Stores
Last-minute shoppers packed grocery stores, shopping centers and malls all over the Triad on Christmas Eve, picking up their forgotten Christmas essentials.
"You won't get it tomorrow so - it doesn't matter what you need. Stores are going to be closed," said Ramirez.
But if you forgot the pies, rolls or last minute gifts - there's still hope for a complete Christmas.
Grocery stores and big box supercenters will be closed but Oakcrest Family Restaurant will be open - for breakfast, lunch, dinner and anything else you might need.
"Some people ask for buns, some people ask for oil, for a, oh I forgot to bring a cake or pie. So I have extra pies and extra cakes in case you have emergencies," explained Sam Helmi, owner, Oakcrest Family Restaurant.
Helmi says Christmas is one of their busiest days of the year.
"We have saved several Christmases before - due to either oven is not working... the dog has spilled the oil so we can't fry the turkey."
He added, "It's about making people happy. Watching someone with a smile on their face makes me the richest man in the world."
Pharamices like CVS and Walgreens will be open Christmas Day but check your local store for hours.
Chain restaurants will also be open including IHOP, Denny's, McDonalds and Starbucks.
Apps like UrbanSpoon and OpenTable can also help you find a restaurant serving Christmas dinner.
Movie theaters will also be open on Christmas.
